On Saturday, October 26, 2019, Children’s Hope of Lubbock, Texas, will host their second annual 5K Hope Run, presented by Michael Postar’s Affordable Storage. The 5K will start at 10 AM at Buffalo Springs Lake. Children’s Hope is a non-profit organization committed to providing services to children who have experienced trauma, abuse, or neglect in their lives and have resulting emotional disturbances. The Hope Run is a fun, memorable, and active way to assist in raising money for the children and foster parents of Children’s Hope.

Children’s Hope has two residential treatment facilities located in West Texas. The all-girls unit is in Levelland; the all-boys unit is in Lubbock. The aim of Children’s Hope is to work with children who have experienced trauma and help them learn the skills necessary to become a well-adapted, happy, and healthy adult. Children’s Hope aims to help each child develop a healthy way of coping, communicating, and responding to their feelings and experiences. Ultimately, the goal is for the child to return home or to a foster placement with the ability to experience a normal, happy childhood.

Individual runners, teams, groups, and organizations are invited to sign up for the Hope Run 5K in Lubbock, Texas, on October 26th. If you have 1-14 members sign up, the race is non-competitive and will cost $20 per person; over 15 sign-ups per group is competitive and will cost either $25 per person (groups of 15-40), $15 per person (41-75), or $10 per person (76+ signed up.) Though the Hope Run starts at 10 AM, it is recommended that you arrive around 9 AM in order to allow time to find parking and to warm up before you run.

The second annual Children’s Hope 5K benefitting our foster parents and children will be fun and full of memories. Sign up online today!
