On Saturday, November 3rd 2018 at 8am Children’s Hope is having its first ever annual fundraising event. Set to be a 5k run starting at Buffalo Springs Lake’s Amphitheater, the fundraiser’s top sponsor is Michael Postar’s Affordable Storage who received naming rights for their contribution. In addition, many great businesses “jumped” at the opportunity to support this great event, including Altitude Trampoline Park, one of the first sponsors to sign up. Following Altitude’s lead, sponsors include Chick-fil-A on 4th and Frankford and Raider Park, Malouf’s Fine Clothing for Men and Women, The Clock Dock, Walgreens, United Supermarkets, Sprouts, Relax the Back, Planet Fitness, and Leftwich Chapman Flooring.

raceWith the many sponsors that have made this event a possibility has come the addition of activities during the race such as music, food, and information about the needs of abused and neglected children across the state of Texas. Junior Vasquez will be playing inside the Amphitheater shortly after the race. The Lubbock Chapter of the International Lions Club will be grilling hotdogs for a small price. There will be a chili, bean, and dessert cook off taking place in the Meadows building. Food trucks will also be present along with information tables from Children’s Hope’s Child Placement Agency, the Child Advocacy Center of the South Plains (CASA), Guardians for the Children, etc…

Anyone interested in participating in the run as an athlete, volunteer, or sponsor can contact the event coordinator, Allison Boroda at (806) 897-9735, ext. 2714 for more information.
