These children are yours. They are mine. They are OURS. They belong to each one of us and it is our responsibility to return to them the childhood that has been taken from them before it is too late. Our desire is to break the cycle of abuse and neglect once and for all so that one day, no child will be a victim. Please join us in this mission.
Every child has a permanent living situation they can call home.
To rebuild the core of the child-adult relationship, which is firmly grounded in trust.
Children’s Hope Residential Services is unique in its philosophy because it combines relationship-based dynamics with evidence-based Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. The underlying principles to the Children’s Hope model are that
- Abused and neglected children have experienced trauma
- Trauma has stunted abused and neglected children’s abilities to trust adults and form healthy relationships
Through Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with a focus on relationships, children begin to rebuild the skills they need in order to function and thrive in society. They learn to trust adults in authority and form lasting friendships with same-age peers. Concurrently, they learn how their trauma has influenced their feelings and behaviors, are taught coping skills to mediate these effects, and learn that they can be positive agents of change in their own and others’ lives.
